Commuter? might as well be a contruction worker.
User: Sam McQuagg, Sep 25, 2009
Pros: Very nice fit, great protection, buttons work great
Cons: None
I would recommend this case to anyone looking for great protection, while not losing the asthetics of the Tour. It looks solid, and feels even better. The battery and headset jack covers are great. The only con is that the charger is a little more difficult to connect, and very easy to come out. However, this may be corrected as I break it in over time. Again, in my opinion, this is THE case to buy for the Tour.
Perfect
User: James Davis, Sep 25, 2009
Pros: Great fit, great feel, light, and slim.
Cons: None
This is a great case. The rubber used does not stick to clothing and does not add bulk to your tour. It feels great in your hand and makes the phone feel very protected. All in all I am very satisfied with this case.
The ONLY case for the Tour
User: Chris Parker, Sep 25, 2009
Pros: Tight fit, easy to get out of pocket and buttons are full fuctionable
Cons: Little hard to charge but not a biggie
Got this off eBay and it arrived today and I have to say this is what I have been waiting for. I couldnt be happier. Loved the look of the Impact but wanted the added protection of the Defender without the bulk. Otter Box listened and they really hit it out of the park with the Commuter case. It feels great in my hands and easy to get in and out of my pocket. For the price you cant beat it. I looks really sharp on the Tour too.
Awesome Case
User: Joel Mayo, Oct 8, 2009
Pros: Stylish yet very protective
Cons: Charging port cover is a little difficult to put into port.
I absolutely love this case. It isnt bulky like the defender case, yet it is a whole lot more protective than the impact case. Its perfect! The only thing that worries me is the silicone cover that goes over the charging port. It makes it a little difficult to put the charger in at first, and then worries me when I try to take it out. It works though so no worries, just need to be careful. Also the cover doesnt completely go into the port like the headphone jack cover. other than that the case is definitely a must have for those worried about drops but want to maintain some style.
Better than my old case...
User: Jimmy Luciano, Oct 13, 2009
Pros: Sleaker profile, added protection, attractive design
Cons: Tactile grip less than expected
With all honesty this is near perfect for the Tour owner. It is much better than my old case, which was your standard in store silicon. The case fits really well and the outer hardcase is exactly what I needed for my work environment. Alittle more protection goes along way when you live a active life like I do. My only Con is that I had gotten used to the tacky grip of the silicon case, but that is what I didnt like also. This case is easier to take in and out of coat jackets and pant pockets but its also smooth enough to accidently slip out of the hand. Im not dissappointed by any means and recommend this case for any one, from the desk jockey to the work site.
Awesome Case
User: Robbie Szczypinski, Oct 29, 2009
Pros: good fit, feels good in hand
Cons: micro usb port hard to stay connected to when charging initially
I love this case. In fact, hands down its my favorite phone case Ive ever owned. I gave it a 5 star rating because even though initially I had trouble with keeping it connected while charging but with time it stays connected more easily.

One great thing about it is that with the plastic outer shell keeping the silicone secure to the device, no dirt can make its way under the silicone and scratch your tour. I keep my BB in my pocket at all times and have checked regularly for dust and lint to have maqde its way under the silicone but have had none so far. Awesome case, good job otterbox!
Very happy - hybrid design is great
User: J W, Nov 3, 2009
Pros: Rubberized corners protect from falls, hybrid design is best of both worlds
Cons: Charger needs to be forced in, wish it was a bit thinner all-around
I am very happy with this case and am a very critical person. The two-piece design makes a lot of sense: it gives you the strength of a hard plastic case coupled with the cushioning of a rubberized skin. If youre looking for a high-end case, this unit has to be at least part of the discussion.
Sick
User: Jim Bert, Nov 6, 2009
Probably the best case (I like to call it a helmet) Ive owned for my phone. The only thing that makes this thing not perfect is the charging port that is blocked a little. I managed to squeeze the charger in and outside of that this case by Otterbox is amazing, I would recommend this to anyone looking to protect their phone and not add bulk.
Best case for the Tour
User: Tony Yeung, Nov 9, 2009
The case is simply awesome, I had the Seidio Innocase II Surface (very cheap looking, and was not durable at all if you take it off often), the OEM skin, and the Epik case
This case is very well made, protect the phone very well, its sort of like a hybrid of soft and hard case, soft in the interior, and hard on the outside, only the screen and keyboard are exposed, so every other part of the phone are very well protected.
This is hands down THE best case for Tour.
Best of Both Worlds!!
User: Chris D, Dec 7, 2009
Pros: Excellent Design, Easy installation, Looks Great without ruining the sleek, sexy looks of the Tour
Cons: Makes plugging in charger a bit difficult.
This is a wonderful product for someone that is extremely picky about their accessories they buy. Im very, very hard to please with aftermarket accessories, but OtterBox has done it. This cover maintains the 9630s sleek looks without making it look gaudy, tacky and taking away the wonderful BBRY design. Its simply to install, fairly simple to remove for cleaning and to swap batteries. I have a spare battery and often swap the batteries so Im not "tied" down while charging and its not to bad to remove the otterbox to gain access to the back door.

My only single Con is that the hole over the charging port is a bit off center and makes plugging the charger into the phone a bit difficult. However, I decided to come up with my own solution to this problem. I used a extremely sharp razor knife and trimmed a small amount of the plastic off of the top portion of the plug and a tiny bit off side of the plug that goes toward the headphone jack. This was the most simple solution I could come up without cutting on the OtterBoxs case. TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR, I TRIMMED THE MICRO USB PLUG ON THE CORD, NOT THE OTTERBOX CASE! It works wonderful. Great cover!
User: Jeff Kaiser, Feb 7, 2010
Pros: covers the phone well, stylish, adds to the look of the phone
Cons: no way to clip it to your belt - if thats important to you
I have a Blackberry Tour 9630. Since this is not a cheap phone, I wanted something that would protect my phone. I have the Defender and the Commuter. When Im in the bush in Africa or India, the Defender will have its place. But, for day to day use here in the US & Europe, I use the Commuter. It protects the phone - it has the rubber housing and the hard plastic outside of that...makes it feel secure inside the case. I have big hands and with the Commuter, it adds a little bit to my Tour 9630...I have been using the Commuter for about 3 months and have no complaints --- well, except that there is no way to clip it to your belt! If Otter made a holster to slide in and clip it to my belt...I would have given it 10 stars!

I have not had any problems plugging in my charger...it was a bit stiff at first, but after using it so much, its not a problem. And honestly, it wasnt that big of deal in the first place.

Bottom line, I think youll be pleased with the quality of the case. On a side note - with the Defender, it does protect the phone! The downside - you lose a little bit of your screen and it is a bit harder to use the buttons on the phone. In my little opinion - I think Otter makes a great product!
Finally got one
User: Kelvin Zero, Feb 20, 2010
After four cases, this is the one I should have gotten in the first place. The hole covers for the earphone jack and USB connector are a little unnecessary, IMO, but I can live with them.
