Clearcase works with Speck Skintight Holster
User: Erich Hopkins, Jan 12, 2007
Pros:
Great looks, very functional, very protective
Cons:
Easy to scratch screen cover, cheap bely clip
I have owned my Clearcase for over 6 months now and I am very pleased with its functionality, looks, and protectiveness. In fact I liked it so much, when I bought my wife a Treo 650 I included a Clearcase and a Speck Products Skin Tight Holster (colorless & transluscent). You may be thinking interesting combination, but the holster works great with the Clear case.
Before Clearcase was available, I bought a Speck Product Skintight case with Holster at the Palm store in Liberty Airport NJ. I found that replacing the 650 battery to be painful when using the Skintight case. The search was on and I found the Clearcase review on this website and decided to give it a try. I love the case, however the belt clip it came with was not to my expectations.
I tried the Skintight Holster with the Clearcase. Wow! What a good fit. If you clip the phone to your belt vertically it is held very secure and would have to be knocked very hard to remove it from the case. The same goes in the horizontal carry where the antenna is used to keep the phone against the upper clip of the holster (if you carry it on your right, the bottom end of the phone is postioned pointing forward).
My only gripe about the Clearcase is the screen cover. It can be easily scratched. Perhaps a better design would be to make the screen cover from a polycarbonate rather than acrylic.
In conclusion, the pairing of these to great products makes for a great functional combination. The combination is protective and functional. It is difficult to find the Speck Products Skintight Holster so I have included the link to the product here. http://www.speckproducts.com/parts.html

Really protects

Pros:
Strong and beautiful
Cons:
Scratches easily
I dropped my treo 650 hard, and broke the case... phone completely safe. Bought a second one and have had it for 6 months. I dropped the darn thing again, but all is still good. Clear protector over screen gets scratched easily, but better that than the treo screen. I am going to get a third one soon.
Great for the $$. Could use a few small improvements.

The Good: Screen flip-shield is the main selling point. Looks good. Protects from scratches. Easy to unclasp and put back together.
The Bad: Would prefer the smooth back of the crystalcase (reducing some of the bulk). Dust finds its way under the case over time.
The Ugly: I baby my Treo but it's dropped twice from friends mishandling it. Both times the case broke apart and my Treo suffered a few minor nicks. Would've been much worse without the case...then again, would've been better if the case hadn't fallen apart.
Conclusion: Great case for the $$. The flip-shield is my favorite feature (why can't they put it on the crystalcase?!). Protects the Treo well enough from everyday scratches and minor falls...but could be better.
Not specific to the 700
User: Derek Ruth, Oct 10, 2006
Pros:
Small case, variety of colors
Cons:
Meant for the Treo 650
Easy to access plastic case keeps the Treo scratch free. Removable screen cover adds extra protection. Very sturdy case and easy to remove Treo from case.
However, the case is specifically made for the Treo 650, leaving some extra space on the bottom corners where the Treo 700 series was trimmed down. Also, screen cover doesn't really latch tight with the 700 series. Expansion card slot on back is kinda hard to access, belt clip requires screw-on peg (included) in order to use. No reset hole without removing unit from case.
