Maybe not the best, but as close as you'll find......
User: Tom M, Jan 14, 2007
Pros: Rubber all over on the inside-no scratching!
Cons: The arm kinda blocks the silence sounds switch
I had a Seidio holster for my Treo 650, and it scratched the phone all over-at every point of contact. When I got my 700p, I did not want to repeat, but I love the functionality of a holster.
This is awesome! The entire interior is rubber, there is no chance of scratching. In fact, the bottom is all rubber (the part visible in the picture of the back of the Treo), so not only does it not scratch, it's not vulnerable to breaking if bumped against something while the Treo is out.
My only 2 concerns-and they are minor-are material around the headset jack and the location and width of the arm on top.
It's difficult to remove and replace the Treo into the holster with a wired headset plugged in, there is just a lot of material around it, which obviously is necessary due to it being all rubber.
The arm on the top is shifted in slightly-you can actually remove the stylus-and it partially blocks the silence sounds switch. But, since it's partly rubber, it moves easily.
Overlooking those 2 minor flaws, this is the best holster I've ever had!
Good for Some Time
User: Tom Ames, Oct 24, 2007
Pros: Easy access
Cons: Turns volume on, card ejection, and breaking
I got this holster after the one at the Verizon store chipped off a little bit of my phone, rendering that holster useless. I got this one from this Web site because of a good review. Fast forward to about a year later (I believe), and the plastic insert that lets the holster swivel broke off. Then while examining how it broke, perhaps out of hilarity, the belt clip also broke in half.

Having the holster wasnt that bad despite the problems. It would turn the sound on and regularly cause me to eject the card, but overall it wasnt a horrible holster.
Not Long Lasting
User: Dan Moore, Sep 13, 2007
The holster served all my needs very well, but has a weak design. The spring loaded clip that holds the Treo in the holster broke after only 6 weeks of use. It could have happened much earlier but I am quite carful in the way I handle the phone. I cant justify buying another one of these until the clip is strengthened.
Not sturdy enough
User: DON PACKER, Jun 20, 2007
Treo 680 ... I really liked the Holster. But holsters are exposed. The case snapped off the clip within 3 weeks. I can reattach it but since one of the "wings" (don't know what to call it) snapped off, it always pulls off the belt clip. I cannot trust it so it is in the "nice try" box.
NOT WELL MADE
User: David Pobereskin, Dec 8, 2007
Pros: Nice fit for the Palm Treo 700, Ruber protects phone
Cons: Poor Craftmenship
I, like some of the other raters, have found that the SD card get expelled when putting the phone in the holster. I also agree that the buttons get depressed. If you put the phone in the holster without first putting the device to sleep. iyt depresses the buttons and it starts to beep. Similarly, if the phone is in the holster and rings or otherwise wakes up the buttons get depressed.

Finally, the holster seperated from the clip while I was wealking. I got back to the car, no phone! Fortunately a Police Officer found it and was able to get it back to me I was not a happy camper.
Ejects smart card
User: Tony Myers, Oct 9, 2007
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Ejects smart card and keys buttons
The clip constantly ejects my smart card. When I put the phone in the holster it presses the keys causing my Owner Information to get overwritten or change the time zone.
Clip broke in 3 weeks time...
User: J.F. Edelstein, Aug 6, 2007
Treonauts - stop selling this garbage!
Worked great for 5 months, then the clip detached-->phone fell to the ground
User: Henry Roque, May 23, 2007
Pros: easy access to my Treo 680
Cons: clip detached from the holster and phone fell on the ground
Fortunately, cell phones are temporary gadgets that eventually get replaced. The holster worked well for 5 months but then the clip detached from holster and my Treo 680 fell to the ground, not once but twice already. It has a few scratches and dings on the top of the phone. Oh well, 2 yrs from now I'll probably have a different phone anyway. I would like to recommend this product since it provides easy access to the phone, but due to the faulty clip design and potential to break your phone I would not recommend it at this time.
Card Shooter
User: Jerry McLellan, Jan 5, 2007
Pros: Seems to be sturdy
Cons: Shoots SD card out of my Treo 650, buttons get pushed when putting phone in holster
Let's start off with the fact that I'm hard on cases and holsters. Since my first Treo, I've destroyed over 10 cases, probably closer to 15. The best case/holster I've tried so far is a very similarly engineered one by Seido, but the Seido holster tended to pop my SD card out whenever I put it in or took it out of the holster. It was aggravating, though I never lost a card. So I thought that I would try this holdster since the design seemed to be an improvement, with the clippy part offset, so that it shouldn't push the SD card on my Treo 650.

I've had this case now for only about two weeks, but in that time it has shot my SD card out of my phone three times. Apparently, even though the top part of the holster is offset so that it shouldn't touch the SD card, whenever I put my Treo 650 into the holdster, or take it out, the holdster torques just a little. Most of the time this is not a problem. But some of the time the torque causes the top clippy part to just snag the SD card, and to do it in such a way that the the card literally shoots out of the phone.

The first time this happened, I was at home, and happened to notice that my card was missing. Fortunately, my wife had found it. The second time, I was actually holding the holdster and sticking the phone into it, prepratory to clipping it to my belt. I saw the SD card shoot out - it went about a foot horizontally. The final time was today. I have no idea when the card shot out, as I have been out and about and using my phone quite a bit. Where is my card? Who knows, and I'm quite upset - not because I've lost any data: I had a backup - but because the 2G SD card was more expensive than the holdster.

I can't speak for other models, but this case is not suitable for the Treo 650.

Worst holster I've ever owned
User: C Ross, Jan 12, 2007
Pros: Holds Treo securely
Cons: Clip mechanism separates from holster, spring is flimsy, clip is fragile, presses/ejects SD card
I've owned and used several holster cases for various PDAs & phones, including the Treo 650 and now 700P. This is by far the weakest, flimsiest, most fragile I have ever seen. The spring has so little tension that the holster kept falling off my belt, resulting in a cracked screen. Then the clip itself separated from the holster when I was pulling the phone out to answer a call. Finally, the clip broke when I was removing the holster from my belt. Compared to the competing brand that I used for my 650, I consider this one to be junk.
Clip is not strong enough
User: Harold Burgoyne, Jan 23, 2007
The rotating clip is not strong enough---mine broke after only a week
A short walk to tragedy
User: Steve Stitt, Jan 31, 2007
Pros: Fits nicely & easy to get out
Cons: SD card pops out, phone dropped out
I had this about a week and had the SD card pop out when I put the phone in the holster. Fortunately, it was at my desk, but yesterday I sat down on BART and the phone slipped out of the holster without me knowing it. Bye Bye phone.... glad I had insurance, but a hard way to find out the holster had a weakness
Flawed, stay away!
User: Alex Holden, Feb 1, 2007
This holster has one HUGE problem when used with 700p: when you insert or remove device from it, the keyboard presses against the inner bottom part of the holster which results in key presses. For example when the phone rings and you remove device from the holster the "Alt" key is pressed on the keyboard which pops up "Alt key" dialog. Or another example: if insert device into holster while Phone application is open on device the "0" key is pressed which results in phone call being placed, and you will not even notice it! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this holster.
Poor fit for Treo 650
User: Jim Brewer, Feb 5, 2007
As the phone faces inward in the holster, the fit is such that buttons on the keypad are depressed. No problem when the phone is off, but when it rings and wakes up, the depressed keys are input to the phone.
Clamp arm breaks easily
User: Wade DuMond, Mar 8, 2007
Pros: Clip worked fine, rubber interior is great, easy access
Cons: The "clamp arm" is the weakest link and breaks easily
I've owned the Smartphone Experts SafeGuard Holster (I have a 680) for a little under 3 months and don't consider myself hard on cases or holsters (previous phone I had was a Kyocera 7135 for over 3 years and never had any problems with the holster) but this was has broken already. I love a holster for my phone so I'll be looking for another one, but will not invest in another one of these.
Worst Holster that I have used on my 650
User: Jon Adams, Mar 11, 2007
Pros: Rubber Inside
Cons: Design of the Retainer
The over-th-phone retainer either turns on my sound button or pops my SD Card out. I am sorry I bought this holster.
Definitely not “The Best”
User: Glenn Cooper, Apr 3, 2007
Pros: TreoCentral was great about letting me return it.
Cons: It lasted 3 weeks...
This is my second style of holster for my Treo. The first Holster was the Helix holster, and it lasted fairly well (I'm really tough on these things...). When I broke the Helix I decided to try for something even stronger, and saw the description of this as "the best Treo holster yet". It lasted all of three weeks, which puts it many notches below the Helix for durability. On the positive side, TreoCentral was great about letting me return this unit, including providing pre-paid shipping.
Wheres the rubber?
User: Emanuel Arnold, Jul 24, 2007
Pros: Included in a GPS Bundle
Cons: No rubber in case!
I received this case in a bundle package that inlcuded the Palm GPS. I wasnt impressed with the case at all. It was all hard plastic. When I put my 650 in the case, it was very loose. I went back to the email that advertised the bundle and realized that the case is supposed to be partially made of rubber. I always get the crappy stuff, go figure.

Ill try to get a replacement.
Latch extremely weak
User: Ken Webber, Apr 13, 2007
Had the holster for one month and was extremely happy with it until the over the top phone latch broke. It is extremely flexible to allow removal of the phone but it bent too far and broke. Once broken the holster is worthless.
Not made for the 650......
User: Scott Steffen, Feb 5, 2008
Pros: None
Cons: Definitely not made for the 650
I bought this holster thinking it would be a good replacement for my 2yr old Seido holster(ratcheting clip stopped ratcheting) which has dutifully held my 650 without incident. According to the product description, this would work with my 650. I couldnt have been more disappointed with this holster. The 650 does not come close to fitting snugly in this holster. Moreover, after you finally wedge the 650 in it, the over-the-top latch either pops out the SD card and/or toggles the sound switch to the "On" position. Absolutely unacceptable. The holster box has the models 700p/700w on it, making me think it was made with these specific models in mind, and NOT any other specific model. Definitely not the 650.....Buyer beware. Ill return mine and get a Seido...
too fragile!
User: Tom Roberge, May 22, 2008
This holster is just not tough enough for the job! I had issues with the SD card popping out and found the belt clip to be week and the pin that holds it together kept sliding out. But after two months the latch has complete broken off the holster making it useless.
Completely unacceptable
User: Eric Casper, Jun 17, 2008
Pros: Easy to remove phone
Cons: Pops out SD card, turns phone to sound
The other reviews were too kind about how bad this is. No matter how careful you are, it will pop out the SD card over half the time. I keep the SD card at home until I get a replacement holster. I have never had this problem with any other holster. Second, the design is such that every time I put the phone in the holster, it moves the volume switch from vibrate to sound. This is clearly one instant where cheaper is clearly inferior. I would not take one of these if they were giving them away. It is better to just carry it in my shirt or pants pocket.
fatal design flaw
User: James Herlocker, Aug 22, 2008
Pros: lightweight
Cons: fatal flaw outweighs any positive features
Do not overlook all these reviews disclosing the SD card ejection issue. Somehow I did, and I regret it. I found my SD card out in the parking lot of my office building this morning after I noticed it was missing from my phone when I put it on as I was leaving home today. How fun is that...?
