Listen to Music on your Treo? Must have headset adapter!
User: Robert Immella, Dec 1, 2006
This adapter is much better than others I've seen in common electronics stores (which are usually hard plastic "nubs" that stick out about an inch or so from the device. Not only is that annoying, but can easily break off in the port.
Smartphone Experts Stereo Adapter makes it feel as though my headset is connected directly to the device.
Skyking
User: Sam Williamson, Nov 10, 2006
Pros: great, easy to use, portable
Cons: -
This works great. Too bad Treo's need it!
great
User: Eric Rose, May 7, 2007
Pros: works great
Cons: can cause mp3 addiction
Works on a 700p. If your ptunes skips music, make sure to get the free upgrade. I ended up paying for the bonus upgrade, and pocket tunes is even better now. Combined with this little adapter and a 2GB SD card, (and the 3200mAh extended battery) I actually use this as my mp3 player now.

So, the $6 headphone adapter cost me about $100 (extended battery, 2GB memory card and ptunes pro), but it saves having to have an mp3 player, and now I have tunes with me at all times. Ha, all that for $5.95.

Anyway, this adapter is exactly what you are looking for to use real headphones with your Treo 700p. Also, I use it with my car aux headphone adapter, so now I can use it in the car as well. So much from a little adapter.
It works.

Dont waste your money on the Radio Shack model. Its a four conductor plug and wont work properly with your Treo.
This Smartphone model is a 3 conductor, which matches the Treo.
It works perfectly.
Does the Job
User: Frank Jackson, Aug 22, 2008
Pros: gold plated, quality, soft wire
Cons: 3.5mm recepticle is wide (nbd)
This is a great product. The stereo is great and when a call comes in, the Centro puts the caller into the headphones and puts the Centro internal Mic into Speakerphone mode which works great.
I dont think I need to buy a 2 in 1 (headphones with mic) now.
Just what I needed
User: Jason Nichols, Mar 18, 2009
Pros: It works
Cons: -
This little adapter is great. I bought a similar product from Radio Shack that only gave me mono sound. This adapter works for my Centro perfectly.
works ok for me
User: Harry Wolfson, Nov 27, 2006
Pros: works with treo 600 & all headphobnes I tried
Cons: 3.5mm connector a bit loose
I have used this adapter on my Treo 600 for about a year. I have used it with 3 different headphones: Grado SR60, Sennheiser PX-100, and some no name cheapo pair; as well as my car radio AUX input cable. The adapter usually works just fine, but occasionally the 3.5mm jack (where the headphones plug in) is a bit loose and I lose right or left channel - this is easily fixed with a little jiggle or rotation of the adapter. Works fine (once connector is seated correctly) walking around, with the Treo in my pants pocket. I have never tried using it while running.
Well-designed
User: R. Mayer, Mar 5, 2007
Pros: Good finish and appearance
Cons: Too big for Palm 680
A great-looking case, well finished. The clip is way too strong-have difficulty getting it on my belt.
The case is too wide for the 680-it needs to be a little thinner.
Magnet works great. In general a well-constructed case easily worth the money.
works great for the centro
User: Brian P, Aug 3, 2009
Pros: allows me to actually use the phone as an ipod
Cons: none that I have seen yet
This little adapter, does a great job with the Centro. I had originally used the palm headset, but was not impressed. It was uncomfortable, was low volume and I was not a big fan of the different size wires. I originally purchased the Radio Shack adapter, which doesnt work, as it only comes out one side. This little adapter works in full stereo and works great. It came two days after I ordered it, so the delivery was a snap. I recommend ordering through this site and will most likely do so in the future.
Better than Palm's adapter
User: Tom McCool, Mar 6, 2007
Pros: Better connections, flexibility
Cons: But not a perfect connection
This adapter beats Palm's clunky L-shaped adapter hands-down. But it's not perfect. I noted minor clicks and stops when the 3.5mm headphone plug is jiggled or twisted while engaged with the adapter. It's a minor annoyance, but one that keeps this adapter from being perfect. If you need a 2.5mm<3.5mm adapter, this is the one to buy.
Adapter
User: Jeremy Maddox, Apr 10, 2007
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Connection to headphones is loose, and cord eventually shorts out
Seems to be a great functional idea, but after about a month in a half, the cord became bent at the top and thus shorted out. Also, the connection part is loose and very annoying
Doesn't work
User: P Wilson, Nov 25, 2006
Pros: looks like it would work
Cons: doesn't work
This adapter doesn't work. Using this adapter with the following headphones yields sound only on the right ear:

* iPod standard headphones
* Shure e2c headphones
* cheapo dollar-store earbuds
* bose over-the-ear headphones
* line-in to my car stereo

This is the case both for my Treo (650) and the demo Treo 700 at the local Sprint store (tested demo 700 only with iPod headphones).
Nice Idea - But doesn't work
User: L. Tyler, Jan 5, 2007
Pros: Great idea
Cons: Poor implementation - doesn't work
1/5/07

I just bought this adapter to use with my Treo 650 and some headphones I already had. I tried with three sets of headphones and only got sound in one ear at a time. I went out and bought another stereo headset adapter" and now all three headphones work perfectly with the Treo. You be the judge!
BAD NEWS
User: PATRICK EASTERDAY, Feb 15, 2007
I have the 700wx. I found the only time this product worked was when I was physically and forcefully applying pressure to keep the headset plugged tightly into this unit. Otherwise output was intermittent. Tried 2 headsets and my car MP3 Player plug in - all same results.
Breaks EASILY
User: Mike A, May 14, 2007
Pros: When it works, it's really good!
Cons: It broke within the first week.
It's a great idea in theory, but in reality, it's a piece of trash. Mine broke within a week of average use. I would stay away from this because you can just spend a few dollars more and get some headphones that should last a bit longer. Meaning more than a week!
