Best product on the market!!
User: dana nearmyer, Oct 31, 2006
I love this protector. No scratches after 8 months of extensive use. It is super clear
Clearly the best type of screen saver available for the 700p
User: Jack Graham, Nov 1, 2006
Pros: reusable, anti-glare features, easy to keep clean
Cons: expensive
With the money we spend on the Treos, this is a great investment. You don't want the inadvertant scratches on your screen; that will just irritate you.
Cool SmartPhone!
User: Trace Belcher, Feb 16, 2007
Pros: either Palm OS or Windows - Works great
Cons: Can
Cool Smartphone!
Great Product
User: Ned Christensen, Mar 2, 2007
I have been a Palm user for many years and a Treo user for about 18 months. In that time I have always used the traditional "peel and stick" style screen protectors. I always planned on about a 50% failure rate, as I always seemed to get it on crooked or managed to get a piece of lint under it, despite through cleaning beforehand. This new product is MUCH superior to the peel and stick variety. It is easy to apply, the bubbles come out easily, and it fits perfectly. I have had the first one on my new 680 now for about 3 months and it looks like new. It DOES reduce glare and I think improves the resolution of the screen. I will never go back to peel and stick.
Very long lasting
User: Brian Nobles, Aug 15, 2007
Pros: Works great for me
Cons: -
I bought the three pack in 1/06. Its 8/07 and I still have the original one on my 650. I have never taken it off to clean it or anything.

I am a heavy user of my Treo (I carry two EXTRA batteries if that tells you anything).

I keep my Treo in a Vaja case most of the time but am not at all shy about tossing the unit into a pocket and carrying it w/o any other protection than these screen protectors. I think this product is wonderful.
excellent
User: tony ho, Dec 30, 2007
Pros: easy to install
Cons: none
no messy liquids just cling ang it done
Its really Good
User: Mark Ransion, Jul 27, 2007
I dont see why everyone likes these protectors. I put them on my treo and the screen appears grainy. Theyre not crystal clear like the protectors that came in my Treo box when I bought these. If I purcahse a protector for $15, I dont want to even know its on my screen. These protectors are good quality, but leave the screen with a grainy appearance.
Good for 650, not as good on 680
User: Baba Buehler, Dec 5, 2006
I bought a 3-pack of these and they look decent on a Treo 650, but on my new Cingular Treo 680 they produce a "speckled" interfearence pattern anywhere the screen is white or lite colored.

I've looked at them side-by-side 650/680 and if you look very close you can see the effect on the 650, but it is vastly more pronounced on the 680 screen.

It is too bad, because I like the slightly "rough" feel of the screen with the stylus when using these, as it gives a little more feedback, but I think I'll have to try a more clear-er protector for the 680.
Not Worth the Cost
User: John Toborg, Nov 10, 2006
Pros: easy to get off and then back on
Cons: nearly impossible to remove all lint and dust
I purchased these protectors because the one that came with my Treo 700w began coming off at the edges. These protectors have a different texture to them ... not shiny, but not matte either. Almost "slick" when using the stylus. In my opinion, it almost makes the screen look like a TV screen i.e. like you can see the individual dots. It almost glistens. Not necessarily an improvement. I like the fact that you can remove them, clean them off and then reuse them, however, you better get every little fleck of dust and lint off first or once you get the protector back on, these tiny (seemingly invisible) flecks become mountainous and very apparent and distracting when covered. And for the price $15.95 plus s&h for three (3), I expected something better.
Works OK, but not as clear as expected for the $$$
User: Brad Zelk, Jan 11, 2007
Pros: fits well, easy to apply
Cons: reduces the "clarity" of the screen
I was disappointed that this protector is not perfectly clear. It very slightly distorts the screen, almost like it is just barely out of focus. For this price I expected much more clarity.
Good for 650, so-so for 755p
User: Mark Raby, Jun 15, 2007
These look good on my Treo 650, but on my new Treo 755p they significantly refract light, giving the screen a grainy appearance and making the screen seem dimmer. Holding the units side-by-side really shows how dramatic the difference is. You can barely tell it's there on the 650; the screen looks noticeably worse on the 755p with the screen protector in place. It's a shame, because they are tough plastic, easy to apply, and they don't leave adhesive material on your screen. I hope SPE fixes the screen protector's compatibility with the coating on the 755p's screen, or whatever is causing this problem.
Ive used a lot better
User: Ken Norian, Jun 10, 2008
All the folks who gave this rave reviews.. should have checked out Boxwave or equivalent. Ive been using screen protectors since the Palm Vx. Other than the totally useless cut to fit plastic sheets that Palm sold, these are the worst.

They just dont lie flat enough - the edges on all sides refuse to fully bond to the screen.
Rip-off!
User: Stanley Bennett, Oct 10, 2007
Pros: thick and slick, fit well
Cons: can't view the screen satisfactorily
If I could give zero stars, I would. The view is horrible and looks like a lot of flashing little lights. I couldn't slant the screen to improve the view. It was the worst screen protector I ever used. Got a refund, but still had to pay shipping, so I am not very happy.
Terrible!!
User: Nicole P, Oct 14, 2007
Pros: Easy to put on and take off
Cons: Makes the screen look awful!
I made the mistake of not reading the reviews for this product until after it was already being shipped to me. As I was reading them, I was thinking to myself "There's no way these screen protectors can make the screen look that bad..." I couldn't have been more wrong.

The price is outrageous for only two screen protectors (reusable or not) and the decrease in image quality is so bad, it is almost immeasurable. The "pixelated" look that most reviews speak of is impossible to ignore, and doesn't make these screen protectors worth the money, even if they are easy to use and washable.

I put one screen protector on my Treo 700p, and threw the whole package away instantly. If image quality means anything to you, do NOT buy this product!
win a mobail phone
User: ranjan samarasinghe, Nov 12, 2007
Pros: moterrola
Cons: -
new mobail phone with a all option
thank you
Ugh, wish I'd listened to the reviews
User: Laura S, May 31, 2007
Pros: re-usable...if you wanted to (but you won't)
Cons: Blurs the screen
I'm kicking myself for not listening to the reviews. Let me put this in some context. I had a screen protector on my 650 for over a year and thought it was great. I'm not terribly picky. I don't need *perfect* - just GOOD.

These, unfortunately, are not. I have the 755 and the viewing screen is not quite as large as the actual framed part of the screen so the first time I applied the cover, there was about a 2 mm gap at the top of my device.

The worst part about these protectors is what the screen looked like. The 755 has a fantastic, crisp screen. I didn't expect that to fully survive a screen protector. With the protector, the screen looked pixelated and blurry. Not just slightly - but it was so bothersome that if I had to choose between these and never having another screen protector...I'd go with nothing. I hate saying that because I really, really want a screen protector but I really feel I should warn people away from these. The screen looks just terrible with them.
Works great for the 650, but looks terrible on the 755p
User: Edward Crouser, Aug 24, 2007
What everyone here is saying is very true. On the 755p, they distort the screen and create a "grainy" look that almost makes the screen look like the Treo 600 (okay, maybe not that bad - but still, you get my point).

In fact, they almost look as if they are "dirty". I scrub it down with some Windex (which usually does the trick) but it didnt help. Now, the really odd thing is they look great on the Treo 650 (which is why I bought them again for my 755p).

For $15, stay away from them if you have a 755p, but go for it if you have a 650.
Yuck
User: Kevin Matheson, Aug 31, 2007
Ive had a Palm since the original Pilot 1000, so Ive been using screen protectors for a while. I HATED the pixelation/tiny multicolord dots this screen protector created. I guess thats a side effect of being "anti-reflective". It was certainly easy to peel off, thank goodness. I put a Palm one back on both my wifes and my Treo.
Not crystal clear like the protectors your Treo comes with
User: Philip Gossling, Dec 29, 2006

RIP OFF
User: Dean Ayala, Jan 5, 2007
Pros: Protects screen
Cons: Cant see the crisp screen anymore
Dont waste your money. Doesn't enhance squat. Causes you to see all the little colored dots and just doesn't look right. Just like the last review, its like looking at an old old colored tv( I think they look better). Anyways there has got to be a better one out there. the one that came with my 700p was a million times better.
insufficient coverage
User: Paul H, Jan 6, 2007
Pros: no noticeable image artifacts or distortion on 700wx
Cons: does not cover the whole screen, not removed easily with scotch tape
This screen protector (Smartphone Experts, Palm/Treo) does not even cover the whole screen on my 700wx. Leaves a 16th of an inch on one edge unprotected. Perhaps this can be overlooked by choosing where the uncovered edge is least likely to affect your stylus use, but for 16$ for 3, it seems to me that the fit should be perfect. I found no noticeable image artifacts or distortion. You will also need some VERY sticky tape if you decide to remove this protector. It does not remove as easily as advertised with scotch tape.
Complete Garbage - Distorts Screen Images
User: Mark Dempster, Jan 17, 2007
Pros: None
Cons: Expensive, Distorts Pixels, Leaves Space
These things are terrible for the money. The screen becomes fuzzy. What's more, there is a slight sizing discrepancy on one edge that over time accumulates dirt.
Greatly disappointed
User: Jayne W, Nov 25, 2007
Pros: Durable, great protection
Cons: Dully, grainy appearance
This protector is does just that, protects the screen. However, I really miss the clarity of the screen, the colors are dull and items are slightly distorted. I keep it on because my screens have always ended up with a scratch, but Im looking for something better.
Frustrating, expensive, and useless.
User: Chris Shoemaker, Dec 13, 2007
These screen protectors are a nightmare to install and an expensive waste. They attract dust and lint, which forms bubbles on your screen. Fingerprints are difficult to remove from the front and DON’T EVER touch the back! Sure, they’re washable—but how to you dry them? Air only, because you can’t let them touch anything. (Even washing with soap and warm water would not remove fingerprints from the back.) The slightest piece of dust or lint causes a large bubble--which can’t be worked out. I ruined the first two before getting a decent installation. (I washed one, but I don’t have much hope.) So, I’ve paid $16 for ONE protector. This product is a fraud! Read the reviews and buy something else!
Applies nicely, looks horrible
User: Ellis Rygg, Jul 22, 2008
Pros: Applies nicely Pre-cut
Cons: Looks awful
I just switched back to PalmOnes universal screen protectors after using one of these hideous things for about a year. It looks like I have a brand new phone! Graphics are much sharper, text is clearer, and it just looks so much better.

The anti-glare was more translucent than transparent. It looked like one of those frosted windows that you really cant see out of.

Admittedly, application was easier, but it isnt worth it! Im never using these again!
bad, treocentral should rethink
User: Craig Harris, Jul 30, 2008
Pros: nifty applier screen to aid in application
Cons: grainy, grainy, grainy, and did I say....
Ditto to all the people who reported that these things are grainy and degrade the appearance of your newer treo.

Why did I not see or read all those negative reviews..... oh, maybe cause all the good reviews sort to the top, despite how old they are. Come on treocentral store, the dates of the review are atleast as important as the rating itself.

Out (as in $15)

Treo Screen Protectors
User: Java holt, Nov 13, 2008
Pros: Clear, Cut to size
Cons: Never lay flat. air bubbles collect under them
These are an excellent idea, but DO NOT work. Save your money for something else, and protect your Treo yourself.
